Construction project in Iran new nuclear power units with the participation of Russia will be under IAEA safeguards and comply with the non-proliferation regime, said in a statement goskorporatsii “Rosatom”.
Russia and Iran agreed to build in Iran new units AESH and Iran on Tuesday in Moscow signed a number of documents that enhance the cooperation in the peaceful uses of atomic energy, and opening the possibility of building in Iran eight nuclear reactors of Russian design. In addition, the parties signed a contract for the construction of two new power units of NPP “Bushehr” Russian technologies.
“The entire project of building nuclear reactors in Iran, including supply of equipment and nuclear fuel, will be under IAEA safeguards and to fully comply with the non-proliferation of nuclear materials, exactly the same as in the construction of the first unit of the Bushehr nuclear power”, - stressed in a statement after the signing ceremony, the message of the Russian nuclear Corporation.
