Ibrahimovic hinted that AC Milan would return

The 2-0 win on Cagliari’s field last night not only helped AC Milan and striker Ibrahimovic to win 3 valuable points but also brought a lot of optimism to the future.

AC Milan more or less learned the Juventus 4-0 victory over Cagliari in the round last week. What they learned was the determination to find the way to the opponent’s net and win after the first half was halted.

Another thing Stefano Pioli has drawn is to put striker Ibrahimovic in the starting line-up, rather than let him sit on the bench during the first 55 minutes of the Sampdoria drew 0-0 last week.

AC Milan played better and more effectively. After unsuccessful attacks in the first half, young striker Rafael Leao only needed 32 seconds in the second half to open the score. But if anyone is not comfortable with this goal, then Ibra spoke up with a decisive goal in the 46th minute.

Juventus needed Ronaldo’s hat-trick, while Milan only needed Ibra’s goal. Indeed, these 2 goals helped them to solve after 3 consecutive games without scoring any goals. For Leao, this is his first goal since September. For Ibra, this is also his first goal in this return to Milan.

It should be remembered that AC Milan entered the match with the lowest total number of goals in Serie A after 18 rounds since 1985 to the present. Ibra scored, Milan won to temporarily climb to 7th place with 25 points promising many optimism in phase 2 of the season.

Cagliari stomped at number 6 but was worrying because this was their fourth consecutive defeat in Serie A - their worst ever series of results since October 2017.

AC Milan have the opportunity to continue to increase the number of wins when they take on rivals SPAL who are seriously ill in the round of 16 of the Italian Cup next Wednesday, the day after Cagliari guest on Inter’s stadium also in this tournament.

Ibra said about his goal: “It is a goal? For a striker, it is important to score. The important thing is that I feel good, then the goal will come. I lose a few chances. to score goals at the beginning of the match, I need to play to get back on track”.
