Commission of the Federation Council on development of information society on Wednesday will discuss the sensational media exposure in the field of cybersecurity.
We are talking about the theft of a group of hackers around 1 billion dollars from banks around the world, and also about the discovery of the ability to spy on citizens through hidden functions Winchester-known manufacturers, reported RIA Novosti on Tuesday, Advisor to the speaker of the Federation Council on the issues of information security, the Vice-Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Ruslan Gattarov.
According to him, the meeting invited Federal agencies, the expert community, including Eugene Kaspersky (head “Kaspersky Lab”, published revelations), as well as foreign manufacturers - Apple, CiscoSystem, D-Link, Huawei, IBM, Lenovo, Sаmsung, Toshiba, WesternDigital.
“For us it is important, above all, the safety of citizens. Therefore, we collect and agencies, and experts, and the companies themselves to discuss at the same table the issue of cyber hacking and spying on citizens. Who knows, who spied - it could be each of us. But it should not continue,” said the Committee Chairman, Senator Lyudmila Bokova.
The gattarov, in turn, added that, “when a citizen buys a computer, he pays money for new opportunities and he’s just not paying for the fact that he was spying”. When purchasing, the buyer and the manufacturer make some sort of user agreement. However, in such agreements clearly nothing about the fact that man can spy, said the politician. “This means that these manufacturers are breaking the law, and the security of citizens is in jeopardy,” concluded the Gattarov.
