MEDIA: CANADIAN PASTOR DISAPPEARED DURING A TRIP TO NORTH KOREA

Relatives of the 60-year-old Church Minister, Hyun soo lim (Hyeon Soo Lim) from Canada said that he went missing after a trip to the DPRK at the end of January 2015, said Tuesday the channel CN the CN.

As noted by the representative of the Church of Light Korean Presbyterian Church Lisa Pak (Lisa Pak), January 30, pastor together with another representative of the Church went to North Korea from China. According to her, it had to be a “routine” trip to the city of Rajin-guac, where the Church supports kindergarten, orphanage and a nursing home.

It was assumed that lim will return from a trip on 4 February, but he still has not appeared. Relatives of the pastor and Church representatives appealed to the canadian government and the Embassy of Sweden in Pyongyang, which provides consular assistance to citizens of the USA, Canada and Australia. According to the TV station, lim together with his wife and son emigrated to Canada from South Korea in 1986. He is fluent in Korean and before that visited the DPRK.

Previously DPRK authorities have repeatedly detained American citizens, when it officially became known about their detention much after the event.
